In-House Opportunities

Below are the areas where serving opportunities exist in-house.

Along with a vision statement and a brief description of what serving looks like in that area of ministry.

  • RFG Cafe’

    Overview

    We desire for RFG to be a community of people who know one another and take time to fellowship together. The RFG Cafe’ ensures that our community is well caffeinated on Sunday mornings by preparing the Cafe’ and the coffee for services.


    Expectations

    • Be in place at the center 45 minutes before service begins to prepare, and brew coffee.

    • Make and serve coffee as needed before and after service.

    • Stock coffee, cups, creamers, and all other supplies as needed

    • Clean up the center and empty/clean the coffee containers

    • Have fun!

  • Connection Team

    Overview

    Our Connections team aims to welcome, inform, and serve our first-time guests as well as those who have been in the family, to find community.

    This team will assist in making guests feel welcome and informed so that worship can be central to the experience on Sunday morning.

    We will guide and connect guests in taking next steps as Christians, serving each other and providing ways to connecting deeper in His Word.


    Expectations

    • Commit to serve at one-two service per month.

    • Be at the connect center before the end of service for at least 15 mins after service ends.

    • Appearance should be clean, neat, casual appropriate.

    • Always be pleasant, smiling, and ready to greet our first-time guests.

    • Small talk is key – introduce yourself, collect Connect Card (physical or virtually) & make sure info is legible.

    • Ask how they heard about RFG, welcome them back.

    • Be prepared to answer any general questions about RFG.

    • Help sell merchandise and/or hand out special information.

    • Have fun!

  • Cleaning Crew

    Overview

    Cleaning Crew ensures that every service is set up for success by making sure our building is clean and free of distractions.

    Expectations

    • Vacuuming

    • Mopping

    • Cleaning restrooms

    • Emptying trash

    • Wiping down surfaces

  • Events Team

    Overview

    Our Events Team helps to plan and execute community events and family events. This allows our organizational and creative people to help organize volunteers, plan decorations and themes, as well as help execute the events the day of.

    Expectations

    • Available, as needed, to plan events and execute events

    • Be prepared to bring creative ideas to the table

    • Own tasks assigned during meetings

    • Be organized and detailed to ensure successful events

    • Have fun!

  • Student Ministries

    Overview

    Student Ministries focuses on creating a highly energetic and relational environment that ensures the student youth grow in their relationship with others and with Jesus. A typical Student Night includes fun games, an encouraging message, and transformative.

    Expectations

    • Available, as needed, to plan and execute games & events.

    • Be prepared to bring creative ideas to the table.

    • Own tasks assigned during meetings.

    • Be organized and detailed to ensure successful events.

    • Have fun!

  • Host Team

    Overview

    Our team is made up of Greeters and Ushers who host the day for guests. Answering any questions and assuring they are directed and informed in such a way that they can experience God without distraction.

    Host volunteers are stationed at specific locations to engage and connect with visitors as soon as they enter, and as they leave.

    Expectations

    • Commit to serve at one-two services per month.

    • Arrive 45 minutes prior to scheduled service time, huddle with Serve Leader.

    • Be prepared to show guests around and answer questions.

    • Smile and make a friend.

    • Appearance should be clean, neat, casual appropriate.

    • Ushers will help guest finds seat in the Living Room Worship Center.

    • Return to position before service is over for 15 mins.

    • Communicating with other team members is fine, just a caution: Make sure the guests come first.

    • Have fun!

  • RFG Kidz Team

    Overview

    Our role of teaching the Word is extremely important to this generation and we take that very seriously while having a good time.

    When children arrive, they automatically become part of The Refuge Church family. They are children of God, a treasure, and truly loved here, and you get to be a part of that!


    Expectations

    • Commit to serve at minimum, one service per month.

    • Arrive 45 minutes prior to scheduled service time to rally with leaders.

    • Wear proper attire to interact with children (you will be given an RFG KIdz shirt to wear while serving.

    • Communicating with other team members is fine, just a caution: Make sure the guests come first.

    • Have fun!

  • RFG Kidz Check In Team

    Overview

    Our Kids check-in and check-out team is an essential part of our church family’s journey as they check their Kidz in.

    This team is vital in welcoming our families and also facilitating the safety of the children by ensuring each one is checked in and checked out properly.


    Expectations

    • Commit to serve at minimum, one-two services per month

    • Arrive at least 45 minutes prior to scheduled service time

    • Set up all computers and printers.

    • Welcome all guests and point them to available check-in stations.

    • Remain in position for 15 minutes once service starts.

    • Assist new families by helping them check-in and help them find their way.

    • Return to position before service ends to help the flow of foot traffic and if anyone loses a pickup tag.

    • Communicating with other team members is fine, just a caution: Make sure the guests come first.

    • Have fun!

  • Maintenance Team

    Overview

    Keeping the building and all it’s operations functioning well speaks to the importance of care and stewardship that we’ve been called to as a place where our community feels welcomed.

    This takes work and work days where we come together as a team to assure the operations are as smooth as possible.


    Expectations

    • Be willing to commit to serving in the scheduled times and dates as requested by the Facilities Director or Maintenance Team Coach.

    • If you cannot complete the task given, please be sure and notify your coach or director.

    • Work days and tasks may include physical challenges. Please consider your abilities and make the team aware so we can work together to accomplish the tasks at hand.

    • If you have questions about the work day or about a task, please don’t hesitate to ask and get clarification.

  • Security Team

    Overview

    Team members are responsible for being visible, available, and welcoming to every person that comes to our church. They are stationed at specific locations to engage guests as soon as they enter. A special focus is on our children, always providing a safe and secure environment for them to learn about God.


    Expectations

    • Arrive at least 45 minutes before the service begins.

    • Have your security lanyard and radio and ensure it’s in working order.

    • Check-in with your team leader.

    • Welcome and greet all people. If there is someone you don’t know, please shake their hand and introduce yourself while welcoming them to the church.

    • Be very intentional with everyone you interact with.

    • Check proper doors before service starts.

    • Stay in position for the entire service to ensure security of your area.

  • Production Team

    Overview

    Production is responsible for the look and feel of our Sunday experience. We believe in creating a distraction free worship environment that supports the movement of God in the hearts and lives of everyone who walks through the doors.


    Expectations

    • Due to the nature of production, we require our team to serve at all services when there are multiple, keeping a consistency is important.

    • Arrive at least 2 hours before the service begins. (See Services in Church Center)

    • Prior to service we have a 1 hour rehearsal time, 15 minute meeting, 40 minute final service run through.

    • During Rehearsal we check all service elements and make adjustments as needed.

    • During the final run through we go through the service from start to finish.

    • Doors open 15 minutes before service starts.

    • Should be in positions 5-10 minutes before service start time.

  • Prayer Team

    Overview

    The Prayer Team is a vital part of The RFG Church. We support those in our church family that need a partner in prayer during our services, and throughout the week.

    Ephesians 6:18 “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’ s people.”


    Expectations

    • Arrive 45 minutes prior to service time.

    • Check in with team 10-15 minutes before the worship experience begins.

    • When the worship leader calls for prayer partners, proceed toward the front of the Living Room / Worship Center.

    • Pray with those individuals that come to meet you.

    • Treat all prayer requests are confidential.

    • If there are ever any questions concerning the prayer need, please notify a church lead or staff member.

  • Worship Team

    Overview

    The Worship Team is essential in creating an atmosphere that helps everyone to able to experience God’s presence. While music is an essential part of worship, hearing and responding to the move of God is essential to preparing for His Word.



    Expectations

    • Arrive at least 2 hours before the service begins. (See Services in Church Center)

    • Prior to service we have a 1 hour rehearsal time, 15 minute meeting, 40 minute final service run through.

    • Model worship for the church through your attitudes and actions.

    • Strive to play your instrument to your greatest potential with excellence as unto the Lord.

    • Attend scheduled rehearsals, services, and ministry events punctually.

    • Dress in a modest manner that reflects your role in this ministry.

    • Be responsible for your own instrument and sheet music, keeping your area neat and in order.

    • Strive to set an example, both onstage and off, of godly behavior.

Surrounding Community Opportunities

  • Narrow Gate

    Overview

    “Love Loud” is what we call serving in the church or outside its walls. In this case, we get to serve outside the walls and in the community surrounding us.


    Narrow Gate Lodge offers a transformative experience for young men ages 18-25.

    A nonprofit organization dedicated to educating, inspiring, and empowering Christian discipleship. Narrow Gate equips and trains young men, develops business discipleship platforms, and serves the church locally and globally.


    Narrow Gate has allowed us to come along side in ministry and in opportunity to connect with and serve with the leaders and young men whose lives are being shaped and changedby the gospel through the ministry of Narrow Gate.

  • One Generation Away

    Overview

    “Love Loud” is what we call serving in the church or outside its walls. In this case, we get to serve outside the walls and in the community surrounding us.


    One Gen Away is a local nonprofit organization that seeks to eliminate hunger by bringing healthy food to people in need.

    They accomplish this by partnering with local agencies to bring food to places of need and by operating a mobile food pantry every Saturday with the help of volunteers.


    At these food distributions, anyone can come and receive food, no questions asked.


    Storehouse Freezers Meals

    This ministry provides frozen cooked meals for those in need through The Refuge Church.

3. Love Loud To The World

Around The World Opportunities

Below are the areas where serving opportunities exist around the world.

  • Operation Christmas Child

    Overview

    “Love Loud” is what we call serving in the church or outside its walls. In this case, we get to serve outside the walls and throughout the world through various international ministries.


    Operation Christmas Child is our Christmas season focus where many volunteers combine talents and efforts to pack as many show baxes as we can. (Go to OCC Website)


    Although the efforts mainly get distributed at the Christmas season, the ministry is considered year round as many shop deals and combine efforts throughout the year.


    After sharing the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus said “Go and do likewise.” That is the mission of Samaritan's Purse—to follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel.
